Professional Bio
Michelle Smith Lank is the Owner and Director of Kids World Learning Center in Statesboro, Georgia, where she has spent more than 20 years creating high-quality early learning experiences for children and families. Under her leadership, Kids World became the first childcare program in Georgia to achieve Quality Rated status and continues its commitment to excellence as a 3-Star Quality Rated, NAEYC-accredited, Quality Rated Inclusion, and Governor’s Language and Literacy Endorsed program.
Michelle currently serves as President of the Georgia Child Care Association (GCCA), where she is a passionate advocate for childcare providers, educators, children, and families across Georgia. She previously served as GCCA President from 2013–2015 and has remained actively engaged in advocacy, professional development, and efforts to strengthen Georgia’s early childhood industry.
Her statewide leadership includes serving as a Quality Rated Peer Support Network Ambassador, a member of Georgia’s State Children’s Cabinet, and on numerous committees and initiatives focused on early childhood education, workforce development, and provider success. Michelle works closely with state leaders, policymakers, and early childhood professionals to ensure the voices of childcare providers are represented in conversations that shape Georgia’s future.
Michelle believes strong childcare programs build strong children, families, communities, and economies. Her passion is developing leaders, strengthening childcare businesses, and advocating for a thriving early childhood industry.
Michelle is also the proud mother of Jasmyn and Jamel, who have joined her in the childcare industry, making early childhood education a family legacy.
