Join the Georgia Child Care Association (GCCA) for the 2026 Teacher Conference Series, featuring 2.5 hours of professional development designed to help early childhood educators strengthen their skills, support their well-being, and continue making a positive impact in the lives of young children.
This year's conference features Nikki Tobeck, Regional Program Manager at Resilient Georgia, presenting an engaging and practical session on stress management and resilience for educators.

Community Resiliency Model (CRM): Wellness Skills for Managing Stress and Building Resilience
The Community Resiliency Model (CRM), developed by the Trauma Resource Institute in Claremont, California, offers a practical, evidence-informed approach to understanding how the body responds to stress and trauma. Through six wellness skills, participants will learn techniques that promote self-care, strengthen resilience, and help reduce common stress-related physical symptoms such as headaches, muscle tension, and upset stomach.
CRM has also been shown to help reduce burnout and turnover in frontline professions by providing simple, effective tools for regulating the nervous system and navigating challenging situations. During this interactive session, participants will learn and practice the six CRM wellness skills:
- Tracking
- Resourcing
- Grounding
- Gesturing
- Help Now!
- Shift and Stay
Educators will leave with practical strategies they can immediately apply in both their professional and personal lives.
Registration Information
This conference is FREE for:
- Teachers employed by GCCA Center Plus Member programs
- GCCA Individual Teacher Members
Before registering, please confirm with your program administration whether your center is a Center or Center Plus member.
- Center Plus Members: Administrators can add teachers to their center profile so they may register at no additional cost.
- Individual Teacher Members: Log in to your GCCA account to register for free.
- Center Members and Nonmembers: Registration is available for $40.

About the Presenter
Nikki Tobeck
Regional Program Manager, Resilient Georgia
Nikki Tobeck is a trained mental health counselor with nearly a decade of experience expanding access to mental health support. As Regional Program Manager at Resilient Georgia, she plays a key role in advancing the organization's statewide coalition-building efforts.
Before joining Resilient Georgia, Nikki served as an academic counselor at Georgia Southern University and worked with the Georgia APEX Project, providing mental health counseling and support to K–12 students throughout Southeast Georgia.
She earned a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and a Master of Education in Counselor Education with a concentration in Clinical Mental Health from Georgia Southern University. Nikki is also a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT-200), specializing in trauma-sensitive yoga. Outside of work, she enjoys teaching fitness classes, writing poetry, running marathons, performing in local theatre, and spending time with her dog and cat, Atticus and Scout.
