Advocacy can be part of your business—and it can help your families understand and support your work.

At this month’s Town Hall, we will hear from Jana Smith, a child care owner and advocacy leader who has successfully connected advocacy with her day-to-day business. Jana has spoken before the Georgia Senate Study Committee and will share real examples from her own experience.

Jana will talk about:

• How she got involved in advocacy

• Why advocacy matters for child care businesses

• The steps she took to involve parents

• How advocacy supported rate increases

• What has changed because of her efforts

Jana will also share sample letters, forms, and tools that she uses with families. These resources can be adapted for your own program. The session will include time for questions and discussion to help you think about simple action steps you can take in your own business. Immediately following the discussion we will provide current legislative and other key updates to support you and your business.
