Saturday, 2/7/2026 : Stories for Every Child: Centering Authentic Experiences in Early Literacy
Session Description:
Presented in partnership with Black Child Development Institute (BCDI), this interactive session explores how children’s lived experiences and culturally authentic stories work together to support early literacy and identity development for children ages 0–8. Participants will examine how representation, storytelling practices, and intentional book selection shape children’s sense of belonging, and leave with practical strategies for centering every child’s story in the classroom.

Infant/Toddler Breakout (1.5 Hours): Nurturing Cultural Awareness in Our Youngest Learners
